It's a Brownie Throwdown with "Jonny Flay"

So basically I have been feeling AMAZING this whole pregnancy. My only indication that I am even pregnant is my growing belly and my cravings for foods that I don't normally even think about. Example: Tonight I NEEDED sloppy joes for dinner...Sloppy joes? Uh not the norm in terms of what I consider absolutely delicious. No offense you s. joe lovers.

Ok so that was just a side note and hardly related at all to the subject of this blog post. The only tie in is that I saw a "Brownie Throwdown" with Bobby Flay on the food network and had NO choice but to make a pan of brownies and I chalk that up to pregnancy cravings...it's a good excuse. Anyway, being much inspired from the said program Jon and I decided that we couldn't just make normal brownies we needed to add a little something special. Jon wanted to add peanut butter and I wanted chocolate chips (because obviously the brownies were in need of that extra chocolate boost) So we divided our batter and we each made a pan adding our own special touch.

And so now it's on...A Real life "Brownie Throwdown with Jonny Flay" Peanut Butter vs. Chocolate Chips.

but actually I decide because I am the self designated judge. They're baking right now, I'll let you know how they turn out.

Ok so it's 9:10pm and my brownies were baked first. I found them to be MOST delicous. Of course I couldn't wait for them to cool so they didn't really hold their shape when I plated my masterpiece. But their decadent taste more than made up for lack of form. My only problem now is that Jon's are almost done and I don't know how unbiased I am going to be now that my brownie craving has been almost entirely fulfilled in my own brownies. I will do my best.

Ok I am doing a "live" judging of Jon's brownies even as I type. Again, for fairness reasons I couldn't for Jon's to cool either. SO his didn't hold shape either. But I have to say...WOW. His turned out WAY better than I had anticipated. Warm, chocolately...peanut buttery...wait let me take another taste..yep just like I thought, the peanut butter just melts in your mouth.

Despite everything that I have written up to this point leading you and myself to believe that I would choose my brownie hands down, I am going to have say that Jon and I are BOTH the winners. But probably more Jon than me. :) I love you Jon.
