Steph and I made a tough decision last fall of where to attend school. I got into 4 out of the 5 universities I applied to, include University of Washington which is ranked 3rd in the country for Audiology. We narrowed it down to UW or Northern Illinois University in Dekalb (close to where I grew up). To make a long story short we estimated if I went to UW I would probably be over $100,000 in debt after the four years and if I went to NIU where I had an assistantship and tuition waiver we would be in little debt. So we choose NIU so that we wouldn't have to stress and that I would have more time with the family instead of working all the time.
Now I have been here 3 weeks. They have been pretty good. The best thing is that our clinic is brand new as of June and so everything is way nice. I have like 12 hours days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. But Monday is pretty light and I have Friday off which makes it a great weekend. So far I am very much enjoying my Au.D. program.

Jon,
I am so excited you and your wife have a blog! I am really happy to hear that you are liking school, you did miss out on not going to Washington (my home with the good water LOL). But I do totally understand the debt thing, med school is just as expensive!!!
Well I am happy you both are well and the baby on the way is so exciting too!
Take care,
Angie
