Reading aloud

From early on in our engagement Stephanie and I read aloud the Harry Potter series. We love it. The stories are amazing and reading them together just made them all more exciting. I loved already knowing what was going to happen and point out the clues to Stephanie so she would have a good guess. A few months ago we finally finished the last book. It was sad because now we don't have something that we both love to read.
Stephanie has recently got into the Twlight series and at first we tried to read them aloud but I was bored out of my mind in the middle of the second chapter. So Steph read them alone and them gave me summaries of what happened in the book. Once it got interesting I tried to convince Stephanie to read it outloud but she refused saying that it is to mushy and it would make her feel silly. And so yet again we are without a good book to read together.
Harry Potter was something that motivated and made us crave reading but since them we have had nothing with such great pull. I wish we could find something else even half as good as Harry Potter.

We are the same way! If we find a good one, we'll let you know! And vice versa...

Steph! I just found your blog on Facebook...and I read this post and had to laugh because we do the same thing!
I wanted to tell you that the "FableHaven" books are fun to read aloud. They are kind of corny, but the story is exciting and both me and Landon love them. I hope all is well for you! Looks like you have been having lots of adventures! Love ya!
